Vins du château de Pierreclos

Our terroirs consists of several plots of land in Pouilly Fuissé,
St Veran and the « Clos de la Condamine » which has an exceptionnal exposure in the heart of Côte Maconnaise.  This 5Ha Clos is located in the village of Pierreclos. The soil has a different composition depending on the location: on the east side there are chalky rocks, in the centre marl with belemnites fossils and on the west, chalk with gryphées fossils

Pouilly-Fuissé “Terroir de Vergisson” 2007

Terroir : Located around Vergisson, the soil is very rocky. The topsoil is very thin, giving to the wine its aromatic complexity and its potential to age.
The vineyard has an east exposure at 380m altitude and a gradiant of 15 in 100.

Viticulture : Grape Chardonnay, density 9000 vines/ha, aged 33 years old, Yield : 60 hl/ha, manually harvested.

Vinification : grapes are selected, and pressed, Alcoolic fermentation at 20°C, malolactic fermentation is done at 100% , elevage during 9 months (15% in new oak French barrels), Finnings and light filtration before bottling.

Tasting Notes : Fruity wine, with a real personnality combining minerality, complexity and power. Mouth is very elegant, pure with a good length. This wine has a real potential to age.
Serve at 12°C with smoked salmon with spices... Wine also available in Magnums.

Saint Véran “Au Grand Bussière” 2006/2007

Terroir : Quaternary limestone
The vineyard has a south exposure at 250m altitude and a gradiant of 5 in 100. The harvest are very early

Viticulture : Grape Chardonnay, density 8000 vines/ha, aged 22 years old, Yield : 60 hl/ha, manually harvested.

Vinification : grapes are selected, and pressed, Rack of the must, alcoolic fermentation at 20°C, malolactic fermentation is done at 100% , elevage during 9 months (15% in new oak French barrels). Finnings and light filtration before bottling.

Tasting Notes : White fruits on the nose, citrus with a hint of minerality.
Mouth is round, fresh and long.
Serve at 11°C with poultry, seafood, grilled fish, goat cheese ...

Mâcon-Pierreclos “La Roche” 2007

Terroir : Limestone.
The vineyard has an east exposure at 250m altitude and a gradiant of 10 in 100.


Viticulture : Grape Chardonnay, density 8000 vines/ha, aged 43 years old, Yield : 66 hl/ha, manually harvested .

Vinification : grapes are selected, and pressed, Rack of the must, alcoolic fermentation at 18°C, malolactic fermentation is done at 100% , elevage during 9 months in tank with “Batonnage” of the lies. Finnings and light filtration before bottling.

Tasting Notes : Gold color with grey reflection
Nose : fresh with citrus, almond and minerality with a hint of liquorice and anise.
Mouth is fresh and soft, very typical from its terroir. The balance between acidity and fruit is perfect and gives power and length.
Serve at 10°C with
agneau au miel et aux amandes, la terrine d'huitres...

Mâcon-Pierreclos “Clos de la Condemine” 2007

Terroir : Exceptionnal location on 5Ha, marl in the middle, fallen chalky rocks on the east side and limestone on the west side. Lots of fossils everywhere in the Clos, really unique. The vineyard has an east, south and west exposure at 350m to 450m altitude and a gradiant of 5 to 45 in 100.
The Clos is the reference of the Domaine.

Viticulture : Grape Chardonnay, density 8000 vines/ha, young vines, Yield : 66 hl/ha, manually harvested.

Vinification : grapes are selected, and pressed, Rack of the must, alcoolic fermentation at 18°C, malolactic fermentation is done at 100% , elevage during 9 months in tank with “Batonnage” of the lies. Finnings and light filtration before bottling.

Tasting Notes : Wine with fruit, minerality, round and well-balanced.
Mouth is elegant, pure with a good length. fresh and soft, very typical from its terroir. The balance between acidity and fruit is perfect and gives power and length. 
Serve at 10°C as an aperitif or with mussels, salmon, lobster or as a desert with apricot tart or sorbets ...
